I have never been to so much training in my life. Since I started working under REAL Kids First earlier this year, every month there will be training conducted by REAL Education Group. The monthly training I have is related to my job as a Management Trainee. Yesterday and today's training is also related to my job but in a bigger perspective. It involves a lot of brain storming, physical activities and last but not least, PUBLIC SPEAKING. That was my biggest fear and number one enemy. I despise talking in public. This time, I am forced to do it.
We were presented with a bunch of videos of famous people giving speech. All of us had to do it. I was picked to do Samantha from The Great Debaters. The first time I watched the video, I got chills. Her speech was damn good. Imagine little ol' me have to talk and act like her. My facilitator forced me to do 5 times before she said 'well done'. I feel like crying. In that video, Samantha was very passionate in her speech as she fought for her people and their education. I really had a hard time imitating her. After I was done, many people came to me and told me that I speak very clearly except there was no anger and passion in my voice. Guess I have to improve on that though it depends on the situation in the future where I have to do more public speaking.
I'm glad this training is over. I learned and benefitted a lot from this training.
To conquer your fear, we must control our Little Voice inside our mind. Tell them to STOP discouraging us. Think positive.
